IAMGRÜV Releases Self-Produced Debut Album, SIN PIE !
August 19th, 2025 - Today, multi-hyphenate artist IAMGRÜV releases their debut album SIN PIE ! Written, produced and arranged by IAMGRÜV, SIN PIE is a fully independent effort that serves as an immersive and intriguing introduction to the artist's sound and vision.
SIN PIE is a deep dive into our doubts, demons, and desires written over eclectic, yet conscious compositions with influences of alternative Hip-Hop, Folk, Rock and even Gospel music. Though the mood is mindful and sometimes melancholy, SIN PIE is still motivational as it scores the struggles of self-discipline, self-discovery, and self-love. Incorporating multiple instruments, ideas and identities, IAMGRÜV masterfully mixed a myriad of ingredients to make SIN PIE a deliciously cohesive project.
SIN PIE is a play on the Japanese term "senpai" as it represents an elevation of one's skill and expertise, while acknowledging that we are always students who can learn. IAMGRÜV's production is pristinely imperfect, breaking rules and barriers found in most mainstream music. SIN PIE feels similar to a sermon as the 19-song album opens and closes in prayer-like poetry while exploring controversial concepts like addiction, suicidal ideations, and more.

About IAMGRÜV: The enigmatic IAMGRÜV ("I AM GROOVE") has been creating and curating sounds for over a decade. They're mostly known as a Denver-based DJ and they study a multitude of other mediums, however, making music is their first true love. Releasing their debut album independently marks a major milestone in IAMGRÜV's career, cementing their place as a compelling new voice in the independent music scene.

SIN PIE is a two-part album that starts off hopeful, but becomes more nihilistic and angsty throughout. The emotional expression goes beyond the lyrics through guitar solos, sax stabs, and drum breaks giving a glimpse into the breadth of IAMGRÜV's abilities as a musician and producer. The few vocalists featured are actually close friends to IAMGRÜV, which made this album even more sentimental. For a more personal touch, all of the artwork and styling was also created by IAMGRÜV.

SIN PIE gives a raw and honest reflection on IAMGRÜV's struggle with substance misuse. Each track tells a piece of their story, detailing the battles that many face in silence and allowing them to process their journey in a public, therapeutic way.
